Temple Beth El Honors Rabbi Micah Streiffer



 On Friday, June 3rd at 7:17pm, Temple Beth El will be honoring Rabbi Micah Streiffer. For the last four years Rabbi Streiffer has dedicated himself to Temple Beth El. He will now lead his his own congregation in Toronto. "We are grateful for the countless ways in which he has built up Beth El from creating dynamic Tot Shabbat programs to reinventing NextDor to nurturing Israel connections and supporting our youth.  Rabbi Streiffer has ensured that our congregation and community thrives.  He has taught every generation from developing the Judaic curriculum that excite our youngest students at CJP to engaging our teens in Sheva class and confirmation to intellectually challenging our SPICE members.  Rabbi Streiffer's sermons inspired us.  His classes enlightened us.  His warmth made our community more sacred" -Beth El

Temple Beth El's Mitzvah Day

Sunday, May 15th, 2011, Temple Beth El will be holding their annual Mitzvah Day. This will be the 14th year held. This day is a special one "To perform acts of generosity and community service" -Beth El, As well as "a day we devote to social justice and action" -Beth El.

Temple & Community Members will be meeting in the morning at Temple Beth El at the David Silverman Social Hall. Throughout the day There will be several projects in different areas of Charlotte including helping out with Assisted Living, Shelters, Schools, Hebrew Cemetery, Jewish Family Services & this is just a sampling of the list! These wonderful volunteers will also be working on Care packages, supplies, clean up, landscaping, painting & so much more, for many different people & facilities. Come join the Jewish Women's Circle of Chabad of Ballantyne, for a lovely evening together on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, 7:30pm.  Ladies will be learning how to make their own Edible Fruit Arrangements just in time for the holiday of Shavuot. Lag B'Omer With Beth Shalom

On Thursday, May 19, from 4:15-6:15 PM, the Beth Shalom of Lake Norman congregation and its Center for Jewish Learning is sponsoring a fabulous, one-of-a-kind cultural event on the grounds of St. Alban's Church, 301 Caldwell Lane, Davidson, NC 28236. This unique outdoor event will feature an Israeli-style celebration of the holiday of Lag B'Omer featuring an appearance by former Israeli Defense Forces officer Mor Green in an informative fireside talk, free Kosher hot dogs and refreshments, live and recorded Israeli music and songs featuring students from the religious school. Free parking is available in the back of the church.
